El IIE es la voz de la ingeniería española en las principales instituciones mundiales de la ingeniería
El Instituto de la Ingeniería de España representa a los ingenieros españoles en las principales instancias internacionales, particularmente ante la Federación Mundial de Organizaciones de Ingenieros (WFEO), la Federación Nacional de Asociaciones de Ingeniería (ENGINEERS EUROPE), la Unión Panamericana de Asociaciones de Ingenieros (UPADI) y ante la Red Europea para la Acreditación de la Educación en Ingeniería (ENAEE).
El Instituto de la Ingeniería participa activamente en estas instituciones internacionales, aportando la visión de los ingenieros españoles en el diseño de las estrategias de ingeniería que se elaboran a nivel global. Esta actividad internacional se desarrolla a través del Comité Internacional del IIE, encargado asimismo de la organización de los eventos internacionales del Instituto.

THE WORLD FEDERATION OF ENGINEERING ORGANIZATIONS
Federación Mundial de Organizaciones de Ingenieros
La WFEO o FMOI, fundada bajo los auspicios de la UNESCO en 1968 por un grupo de organizaciones regionales de ingeniería, es una organización internacional no gubernamental que sirve de puente de comunicación entre las organizaciones de ingeniería de 90 países, representando a unos 15 millones de ingenieros de todo el mundo.
Founded in 1968 by a group of regional engineering organizations, under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organizations (UNESCO) in Paris, the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) is a non governmental international organization that brings together national engineering organizations over 90 nations and represents some 15 millions engineers from around the world.
A lo largo de su historia, la FMOI ha tenido dos Presidentes españoles, miembros del IIE: D. José Medem Sanjuan y Dª Mª Jesús Prieto Laffargue.

Ha ostentado durante los últimos años la representación del IIE en la FMOI, el Ingeniero de Caminos D. José Medem Sanjuán,fallecido en enero 2015.
Actualmente la representación del IIE en la FMOI es el también Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos D. Tomás Sancho Marco.

World Engineers Summit on Climate Change (WES) 2015

21–24 Julio 2015, Singapur In July 2015, Singapore will once again host the World Engineers Summit on Climate Change (WES) 2015, focusing on the theme ‘Sustainable Urban Development for Global Climate Resilience’. After its inaugural success in 2013. WES has become an anticipated platform by the global community to exchange insights and ideas to address the effects of climate change.Triggered by rapid urbanisation and industrialisation activities, global warming is unleashing undesirable effects across the globe, increasing average temperature, rising seawater levels, causing unpredictable weather patterns and destroying food crops, properties and lives. No country is immune to climate change and the variability it brings to the weather. There is a mounting necessity to place sustainability at the core of urban and industrial development.More InformationWith their intellectual and problem-solving capacity, engineers are best placed to lead the transition to a sustainable future, by analysing problems and developing cost-effective technological solutions, bringing knowledge about the problem of climate change and the urgency for resolving it to the community-at-large and working with other stakeholders to bring about real progress.
To harness the collective thinking and expertise of engineers to build climate resilience, The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES) will hold WES 2015 from 21 to 24 July 2015 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. Convening engineers from multiple disciplines, urban planning specialists, energy specialists, environmental and water specialists, academia, financiers, policy makers, and business leaders of corporations from across industries around the world, WES 2015 will see the discussion of innovative solutions and sharing of best engineering practices to help realise milestones in the journey to a sustainable and resilient future.
UPADI
UNIÓN PANAMERICANA DE ASOCIACIONES DE INGENIEROS

UPADI (Unión Panamericana de Asociaciones de Ingenieros), es la organización panamericana de Ingenieros de mayor prestigio. Representa a más de dos millones de ingenieros de todas las especialidades en Norte, Sudamérica, América Central y el Caribe. España es Miembro Observador de UPADI a través del Instituto de la Ingeniería de España.

Su finalidad es alentar, avanzar, promulgar, guiar y unificar el trabajo y práctica de los ingenieros de las Américas para tener una organización capaz de participar e influir en las decisiones que marcarán el nuevo rumbo de ese continente.

El Dr. Ingeniero de Caminos, Canales y Puertos, D. José Medem Sanjuán, ha sido durante los últimos años el representante del IIE en ambas organizaciones, FMOI y UPADI. Tras su fallecimiento en enero 2015, la representación del Instituto en ambas Organizaciones la ostenta el Ingeniero de Caminos,Canales y Puertos, D. Ignacio Glez.-Castelao Martínez.-Peñuela
ENAEE
EUROPEAN NETWORK FOR ACCREDITATION OF ENGINEERING EDUCATION
La ENAEE se estableció en 2006 por 14 asociaciones que se ocupan de la enseñanza de la ingeniería en toda Europa. Su finalidad es contribuir al desarrollo de la garantía de calidad y acreditación de las políticas europeas en la enseñanza de la ingeniería. ENAEE es miembro de la International Federation of Engineering Education Societies y de la TechnoTN - Science and Technology Thematic Networks Archipielago.
ENAEE, the “European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education”, stems out of ESOEPE, the “European Standing Observatory for the Engineering Profession and Education”, which was established on 9 September 2000 with the purpose of "building confidence in systems of accreditation of engineering degree programmes within Europe", and facilitating "exchange of information", "voluntary agreements on accreditation of engineering educational programmes and recognition of engineering qualifications" and "the development of standards on the competence requirements of graduate engineers".
El Representante del Instituto en esta organización es el Dr. Ingeniero de Minas, D. José Luis Tejera Oliver, que también pertenece al Administrative Council de ENAEE en susitución de también Dr. Ingeniero de Minas D. Rafael Fernández Aller.
ENAEE es la encargada de homologar las Agencias de acreditación EUR-ACE, además de velar por el buen funcionamiento del sistema.
La Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y la Acreditación (ANECA) junto con el Instituto de la Ingeniería de España (IIE), crearon en 2013 la agencia española para la evaluación de los programas de estudios de Ingeniería de aquellas Universidades que soliciten el sello de calidad EUR-ACE para sus titulaciones (European Accreditation of Engineeering Programmes).
ENAEE (European Network for Accreditation of Engineering Education) es la entidad encargada de homologar las agencias EUR-ACE. Una vez homologada por ENAEE, la agencia ANECA-IIE sería la encargada de conceder los sellos EUR-ACE en España y otros países.

EUROPEAN FEDERATION OF NATIONAL ENGINEERING ASSOCIATIONS
ENGINEERS EUROPE, fundada en 1951 por un grupo de ingenieros franceses y alemanes, agrupa en la actualidad a 350 asociaciones nacionales de 34 países europeos. A través de estas asociaciones nacionales, ENGINEERS EUROPE representa en la actualidad a un total de 3,5 millones de ingenieros europeos. A su vez, ENGINEERS EUROPE es miembro fundador de FMOI. ENGINEERS EUROPE tiene un Comité Español que es el único representante de los ingenieros españoles ante la Federación Europea de Asociaciones Nacionales de Ingenieros.
